I'm Andrew, a licensed general contractor. Having built homes and done all sorts of renovations for thirty years, I can cheerfully handle any small tasks -- no matter the type -- which crop up during home ownership. I love doing a precise, accurate, long-lasting job that will beautify a home, make it more functional, and spare a client the burden of spending time on tasks that aren't for them. By being smart and efficient at what I do, I free my clients to be smart and efficient at what they do. Framing, drywall, rot repair, flooring, painting, trim, furniture assembly and repair, appliance installation, cabinetmaking, light electrical and plumbing, roof repair, door and window installation and repair... even Ikea assembly! I've dissected old historic homes and built new ones; made cherry tables and revived church organs... so although it feels like I've seen it all, there's always something new to learn. Often, home owners recognize a symptom -- a loose sink faucet, say -- but naturally can't know how to diagnose the underlying problem. When I inspect the faucet, I may find that it's loose because a piece of hardware was left off during installation... because the hardware didn't fit against the cabinet... because the cabinet was installed wonky... because the floor wasn't level. It isn't the homeowner's responsibility to figure all this out; but it's a puzzle I love to solve. Then, it's my job to figure out the best, least expensive intervention at my disposal to ultimately correct the loose faucet (no, we're not re-leveling the house!) So if you don't know how to go about completing a task, don't feel badly -- know that there may be a very good underlying reason that solutions are elusive. And also know that with my in-depth experience, I can analyse and solve even intricate challenges, explain the best solution to you, and gladly make the solution happen.
