Hi my name is Patty. I am with US Best Repairs. We are a nationwide construction company. The reason for my call today was to see if you were interested in taking on some additional handyman work in & around the Sumiton,AL area. We work nationwide with bank foreclosed homes and we have a new client in your area for which we need contractors. Do you know about property preservation? Response if NO: Our clients are national banks, property management companies, property investors and real estate companies. We do anything from lock changes, to debris removal, winterizations, and grass cuts along with submitting bids on the bigger damages like roof repair, mold removal, dry wall damages. . Are you familiar with this type of work? Response if YES: Awesome! Just so you know for those smaller tasks like lock changes, winterization and grass cuts, we do have a set price list. Which I can send out to you, so you may review them. You will bid on the bigger damages (anything not included on price sheet). We do not take out any percentage out of the work that you complete. The more damages you report and bid on, the more work you receive. When bidding you can include man hours, materials and labor. Before moving on, we only have three requirements: The first is having liability insurance of at least 1 million occurrence & 2 aggregate. For liability reasons, you will be required to add us on as a certificate holder and an additional insured. Just in case anything was to happen to you or your employees while on the property, we will be able to make a claim on your behalf. The second requirement is for you to be able to pass our background check. We require a copy of your driver's license and social security number to run the background. We will do a criminal and DMV screening. The third requirement is for you to be able to cover a 50 mile radius from where you are located at. Would any of the three be a problem for you? Response if YES: Insurance and clearing the background are a mandatory requirement. If you do not agree, we cannot hire you. Our clients require for you to carry liability insurance in order to insure the protection of any incidnets that might happen on the property. They require for our vendors to add us to their policy so that we can make claim on your behalf if needed. As for coverage, we would prefer for you to cover a 50 mile radius in order to eliminate vendor competition. We like to hire 1-2 vendors per 50 miles. The more areas you cover, the higher your work volume will be. However, just let us know how far you are willing to travel and we will note it in your file, once on board.. Response if NO: Okay! Also regarding our pay, We pay every 7-10 business days after the day of invoice. Checks are sent out every Monday. Depending on your location, you should receive payment Wednesday-Friday.
