Business Address: Unit #5 – 800 Industrial Ave. Ottawa ON K1G 4B8 Work Location: Same as above Type of Employment: Full Time - Permanent Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible Job Description: Operate machines to grind and polish surfaces of stone blocks, slabs or other stone products to specific shape or design and to produce a smooth finish. Read blueprint, schemas and drawings. Operate machines to drill holes in blocks or slabs of stone according to specifications. Operate Blade or wire saws to cut blocks of stone to specified dimensions. Record manufacturing information such as quantity, size and type of goods produced. Check products for quality control. Perform templating and measurement of granite products Requirements Education: Some secondary school education is required. Experience: 7 months of experience in the trade is required. Edging experience with hand carving is a strong asset. Driver´s license is an asset. Weight handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs) Work conditions and Physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks, Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Standing for extended periods, Handling heavy loads, Manual dexterity, Hand-eye co-ordination, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling. Personal suitability: Accurate, Team player. Language: Basic level of English is required Salary: $25.00 per hour. 40 Hours per week. Benefits: Paid vacations. Important Information: Work Schedule is from 8 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday with 2 Lunch breaks of 15 min that are paid, also have 10 min of paid coffee breaks. 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week.
