As the number of work orders coming in this winter has dwindled so has the paycheck. As a result I am offering my services locally in the Las Cruces area for residential maintenance and repairs only. No commercial or industrial jobs as these would violate my non-compete agreement with my current employer. I have over 30 years experience. My first maintenance job was at condos off Conway street in Mesilla in 1981 and I have been in the field ever since. I will charge 20 dollars per hour with a one hour minimum and than 30 minute increments after that. Lets say you hire me to install a new garbage disposal which takes me 30 minutes. . .you are more than welcome to keep me busy with other duties for the next 30 minutes to get your full hours work out of me. You supply all parts; I make no markup on parts. If you wish I will go with you to pick up needed parts to assure you get the right parts at no charge. I will also just go get the parts and return your change to you with the receipt. My certifications include; EPA Indoor Air Quality technician (Certified by Mainstream Engineering). My Experience; Plumbing -- I have experience in all areas of the plumbing trade and with all plumbing materials and tools. I have plumbed new systems as well as made repairs to existing. I have installed, troubleshoot and made repairs to garbage disposals, ice makers, dishwashers, hot water heaters, boilers, sinks, toilets, urinals, showers, risers and supply lines, water mains up to 6 inch, sewer line and mains up to 12 inches, drains and "P" and "J" traps, steam traps, back flow preventers, air vents, pressure regulators. I have experience with sweat, thread, compression, flanged, copper, steel, PVC, CPVC, brass and all types of plumbing materials and connections. I have knowledge of the use and proper care of plumbing tools and procedures and the safety precautions and procedures which must be followed in this trade. Electrical -- I've worked on both AC and DC electrical systems. I have worked with low voltage, single and three phase systems. My experience includes installation of motors, switches, relays, fuses, batteries, chargers, GFCI's and AFCI's, outlets, hook ups of office cubicles, door bells and buzzers, ballast, lights, electrical pedestals. I can read schematics and blueprints and my experience includes troubleshooting various electrical parts and systems, using test equipment including multi-meters, polarity testers battery load testers etc. depending on a problem I can run the appropriate test (continuity, voltage, resistance, ohms, amperage etc) needed to find and fix the problem. I have knowledge of the use and proper care of electrical tools and procedures and the safety precautions and procedures which must be followed in this trade. HVAC - I have experience in the manufacturing and installation of duct systems, Install, Maintenance and repairs to forced air heaters, radiant heaters, water and steam boilers, circulation pumps, window air conditioners, heat recovery systems and roof top units up to 500 tons, split units, package units and PTAC units. I'm EPA certified to work with refrigerants. I have knowledge of the use and proper care of HVAC service tools and procedures and the safety precautions and procedures which must be followed in this trade. Carpentry - I am experienced in new and remodel carpentry. I have framed new homes and also have added walls, windows and doors etc to existing structures. I have built shelving units, refurbished wood finishes, built tables, benches, finish (trim) work, install of cabinets, Repair and install of drywall. I have knowledge of the use and proper care of most carpentry tools and the safety precautions and procedures which must be followed while using these tools. Swimming pool systems/equipment -- I am experienced in all phases of swimming pool care from equipment care and repairs too chemical balancing and cleaning and make inspection ready. I have sandblasted and re-finished pool surfaces, installed (residential sized) pool heaters, made repairs to commercial pool boilers, repairs and replaced circulation pumps, sand filters, backwash valves and flow switches. Testing of pH, chlorine, bromine, total alkalinity and calcium hardness. cyanuric acid levels, mineral content, total dissolved solids and acid or base demand tests. Cleaning including vacuuming, drain and re-fill, shocking, cleaning strainers, replacement of sand/filters. I have knowledge of the use and proper care of swimming pool equipment and the safety precautions and procedures which must be followed in this trade. Lock systems -- I have experience in installing and repairing many types of locks, locking mechanisms, closers, doors, hinges and door controllers. These include standard cylindrical and mortised locks, pad locks, security code access systems, card swipe systems, ADA access systems and solenoid driven strikers. Standard manual and electric panic devices. Standard, ball bearing and self closing hinges. Floor, jam and door mounted closers. I have taken the Best Access (now Stanley) and Schlage lock classes and worked with removable core 6 and 7 pin lock systems including figuring of lock codes, pinning of cores, maintaining secured records of used core codes and key/code assignments.
